A CNC machine is different from 3D printing as it uses subtractive manufacturing technology as it starts with the block of raw material or blank block and furthers the machine acts according to the instructions given by the operator that cuts away the material from the solid block. Removing the material from this blank work piece is done by a variety of automated operations.
Now you may be curious about why this machine is different from a 3D printing machine. Well, 3D printing is additive manufacturing technology. This simply means that during the manufacturing process material is added together to create parts. While in a CNC machine, the material is subtracted.
